It all started here. In this decrepit 1920s building on Brunswick Street, New Farm. Known as ‘The Avalon’, it was an abode to a motley crew of artists, prostitutes, gentry and drug dealers.
Fast forward 90 years and this bohemian dwelling became the home to our first hole in the wall burger shop.
No one does it quite like us. We have been pioneering the burger scene since the beginning of time (probably).
Known for our out of the box approach to just about everything, we pride ourselves on making delicious burgers that are also good for you.
Most importantly we believe in using only the freshest, premium, free range produce sourced from local Aussie farmers.
Ten years on, and a few million burgers later, our approach hasn’t changed. We’ve always been a little different, and that’s just the way we like it!
A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE...
This is the part where we are supposed to talk about fluffy, feel good things, but our approach to life is pretty straightforward.
We make great burgers and have a lot of fun doing it.
We don’t take ourselves too seriously – you won’t find any cravats in our kitchens!
Sometimes we ruffle a few feathers and sometimes we’re a bit left field.
One thing is certain – our burgers are good. Dangerously Good.
SUPPORTING AUSSIE FARMERS
SUPPORTING AUSSIE FARMERS
Supporting Aussie Farmers is a Burger Urge initiative designed to offer financial support to farmers and farming communities in need.
Each year, we set targets and complete fundraising initiatives through our network of restaurants, the proceeds of which are donated to four different areas of farming that we identify as needing help.
SUMMER 2016 APPEAL
Our Autumn 2017 Appeal will support Australian Spud Farmers.
The chips are down for Australian potato farmers. Over the last six months, severe storms and floods across South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and Southern NSW have left many potato and vegetable famers with crop damage and harvesting delays.
50 cents of every large chips sold across the Burger Urge network in March, April and May will be donated to Aussie Farmers Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that will assist us in distributing funds raised to the potato and vegetable farming communities that need it the most!
AUSSIE FARMERS FOUNDATION
Aussie Farmers Foundation is a not for profit charity that supports Australian farming communities going through tough times.
Through grassroots projects in rural and regional Australia, Aussie Farmers Foundation focuses on key areas affecting country Australia including economic and environmental sustainability of farms, disaster relief and the mental health and wellbeing of farming communities.
Together, we can make a difference! For more information or to donate, visit www.aussiefarmersfoundation.org.au
