About Burger Urge

OUR STORY

It all started here. In this decrepit 1920s building on Brunswick Street, New Farm. Known as ‘The Avalon’, it was an abode to a motley crew of artists, prostitutes, gentry and drug dealers.

Fast forward 90 years and this bohemian dwelling became the home to our first hole in the wall burger shop.

No one does it quite like us. Known for our out of the box approach to just about everything, we pride ourselves on making delicious burgers that are also good for you.

Most importantly we believe in using only the freshest, premium, free range produce sourced from local Aussie farmers.

Ten years on, and a few million burgers later, our approach hasn’t changed. We’ve always been a little different, and that’s just the way we like it!

OUR MISSION

This is the part where we are supposed to talk about fluffy, feel good things, but our approach to life is pretty straightforward.

We make great burgers and have a lot of fun doing it.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously – you won’t find any cravats in our kitchens!

Sometimes we ruffle a few feathers and sometimes we’re a bit left field.

One thing is certain – our burgers are good. Dangerously Good.

SUPPORTING COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

SUPPORTING COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Supporting Community Programs is a Burger Urge initiative designed to offer financial support to community based charities.

Each quarter, we set targets and complete fundraising initiatives through our network of restaurants, the proceeds of which are donated to a particular area of the community that we identify as needing support.

SPRING 2017 APPEAL

Our Spring 2017 appeal will support the homeless by donating a portion of every dirty fries sold in the months of September, October and November to Orange Sky Laundry, a not for profit charity that provides a free laundry and shower service for the homeless.

ORANGE SKY LAUNDRY

Orange Sky Laundry is the world’s first free mobile laundry service for the homeless – a crazy idea in 2014 to put two washing machines and two dryers in a van and wash and dry clothes for free.

Starting in the streets of Brisbane, Orange Sky Laundry has grown to 17 services across 14 locations in QLD, NSW, VIC, WA, SA and TAS. Each week they process over 6.2 tonnes of laundry, while having 1,300 hours of positive and genuine conversations.

It costs only $6 to wash and dry someone’s clothes.
