Rebecca Mahar joins as National Training Manager

We Warmly Welcome Industry Expert Rebecca Mahar

Burger Urge is proud to announce the appointment of Rebecca Mahar as our new National Training Manager, bringing with her nearly two decades of elite industry experience, including 19 years with the global gold standard in hospitality training and systemisation—McDonald’s.

As Burger Urge continues its nationwide expansion, Rebecca’s appointment marks a critical investment in maintaining the brand’s commitment to operational excellence, training, and long-term team development.

A Proven Leader in Training and People Development

Rebecca’s experience speaks for itself. Over her 19-year career in hospitality and business management, she has overseen operations across multiple locations and led teams of more than 700 employees. Her expertise spans business planning, project and change management, succession planning, and performance optimisation—all skills that will now be applied across the Burger Urge network.

“I’m passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience and product quality, while ensuring sites remain compliant, efficient and people-focused,” said Rebecca. “I’m thrilled to be joining a brand like Burger Urge that is bold, authentic, and genuinely invested in the growth of its people.”

During her time with McDonalds, Rebecca won multiple awards, including National Store Manager of the year - beating 960 store managers Australia-wide for the title.

Empowering Growth From Within

At Burger Urge, we believe training is about more than systems and procedures—it’s about growth. Many of our Franchise Partners began their journey as team members in our restaurants, and Rebecca’s leadership will further enable us to identify, support, and promote top talent from within.

“Rebecca isn’t just bringing world-class systems and structure,” said Burger Urge Managing Director, Sean Carthew. “She’s bringing a passion for people and development. Her approach aligns perfectly with our belief that hospitality should be a career with real progression and opportunity. We want our people to grow with us.”

A Strategic Step for a Growing Brand

As Burger Urge approaches its next phase of growth—with new venues opening across the country—Rebecca’s role will be pivotal in ensuring our people, processes, and culture scale alongside our footprint. Her expertise will help us further sharpen operational efficiencies while protecting the unique and community-driven spirit that defines Burger Urge.

Please join us in welcoming Rebecca Mahar to the Burger Urge family—another bold step toward building Australia’s most loved gourmet burger brand.
