Created in 1926 at El Reno’s Hamburger Inn, Oklahoma, the smashed onion burger was born out of necessity.
With hamburger meat scarce, onion was smashed into grilling patties. The sprawling, sizzling, delicious mess was topped with melted cheese, pickles, mustard and ketchup. Word got around and the flavour was a hit – a rural American classic was born.
95 years later, and we’re bringing you the DOUBLE Oklahoma Smash. Just another example of the way burgers should be.
