Troy McDonagh ex-Betty's CEO joins Burger Urge

Burger Urge Welcomes Industry Legend Troy McDonagh to Advisory Board

Burger Urge is proud to announce that Troy McDonagh has officially joined the company as part of brand’s advisory board, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record in scaling successful QSR brands.

The appointment follows Troy’s recent announcement that he is stepping down as Managing Director of Betty’s Burgers, where he led the brand through a remarkable period of growth—from just nine venues to more than 60 across Australia.

“This is an exciting time for Burger Urge,” Troy said of his new role. “After eighteen years of trading history and a strong presence across the East Coast of Australia we are getting ourselves prepared for the next phase of growth. One thing I have observed so far about Burger Urge is its commitment to supporting its people and being an almost exclusively franchised group, the Franchise Partners are the heartbeat of the business, they’re deeply involved in their local communities and it's our job as a support team to run side by side with them as they continue their growth journey."

"Our ongoing commitment is to deliver a "people first approach" in every way, never compromise on quality and consistency, continue to bring Burger Urge to communities across the country, and it’s a great time to be part of the next chapter.”

Troy’s appointment marks a significant step for Burger Urge as the brand continues to expand its footprint across the country. His deep expertise in franchising and operations, honed over decades in the industry, will be invaluable in supporting Burger Urge’s next phase of strategic growth.

Prior to his time at Betty’s Burgers, Troy held senior executive roles at leading brands such as Village Cinemas, Gloria Jean’s Coffees, Oporto, and Red Rooster. During his tenure at Betty’s Burgers, the brand achieved record-breaking turnover, successfully navigated the challenges of the pandemic, and successfully expanded into several new markets.

Troy’s appointment to the Burger Urge advisory board signals a strong vote of confidence in the brand’s vision, values, and growth potential. With his guidance, Burger Urge is well-positioned to continue building a brand that’s bold, community-minded, and built to last.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we continue to grow the Burger Urge family.
