THE HELLHOUND LOUNGE
I hear the grill a sizzlin',
It's callin' out my name,
And I ain't missed a luchtime rush since the first day that I came.
I'm holdin' down this diner, and I don't mind stayin' on,
'Cause that flavour keeps on rollin', and it's here where I belong.
When I was just a youngster,
My mama told me true:
"Find a place that feeds your soul and treats you like I do."
Well, I found this lil' joint here, where the nights light up the sky,
And when I hear those spatulas clappin', man, it makes me fly.
I bet those fancy diners got their silver in a row,
They're pourin' quiet coffee where the gentle folks softly go.
But they ain't got this smokey haze or this late-night roar -
'Cause this place keeps people smilin'
And pushin' through the door.
